The study was entitled "Comparison of Public and Private Urdu EFL Learners' Attitudes and Styles towards
English Learning at the Secondary Level." The primary objectives of the study were to explore Urdu EFL
learners' attitudes and learning styles towards learning English in Public and Private Schools and to make a
comparison between Urdu EFL public and private secondary school learners' attitudes towards learning
English. The study was descriptive. The study population comprised all public and private secondary school
students. A standardized questionnaire was used in the study. The questionnaire mentioned above was highly
reliable and frequently used in studies. The questionnaire was administered to the sample. The collected data
was analyzed through the most frequently used statistical techniques of mean score, standard deviation, and ttest. The findings of the study revealed that public secondary school students feel more hesitation in speaking
English frequently compared to private secondary school students, and it is also found that private secondary
school students are more likely to learn English than public secondary school students. It is concluded that
private secondary school students have a positive attitude towards learning English. The significant
recommendations were that students' hesitation in speaking and writing English might be removed by
encouraging and motivating them to develop a positive attitude towards learning English. Teachers may
improve their English speaking and writing abilities by using language-centered teaching approaches and
ensuring students' participation in different classroom activities. Students' English learning may be improved
by creating confidence in them.
