Students’ Attitude towards Self-Learning At University Level

Abstract

Self-learning is any information, skill, achievement, or personal development that an individual chooses and bring about by his or her own determinations using any technique in any situation at any time. The present study focuses to investigate the Student’s Attitude towards Self-Learning. The general purpose of the study is to determine the student’s attitude towards self-learning at university level in District Vehari. The objectives of the study are as 1) To find out factors vise effect student’s determinants of Self learning 2) To make gender based comparison of male and female students impact of self-learning on students’ performance.3)To meet the objectives of the study, questionnaire is used for the purpose of data collection on a five point Likert type scale depends upon the five major dimensions Student’s curiosity, future profession, Self-confidence, creativity and competence. The population of respondents is comprised of universities’ students including Bahuddin Zakria University campus Vehari, University of Education campus Vehari, Comsats University campus Vehari and University of Agriculturel sub campus Burewala Vehari in District Vehari. The Sample of this study was consist of 400 randomly selected students (Male/Female) of the above mentioned universities. Analysis of data revealed that significant difference exists between male and female students. Female students possessed relatively more positive attitude towards self-learning as compare to male students.
