Impact of District Teacher Educators’ Training on Professional Development of Primary School Teachers

The study highlights the district teacher educators’ training on professional development of primary school teachers. The objectives of the study were to analyze the professional development of the primary school teachers; to find out to what extent the objectives of training about lesson planning, communication skills and homework achieved. The data were collected through questionnaire from the 160 primary school male and female teachers from two Tehsils (Ali Pur and Jatoi) in District Muzaffar Garh. The data was collected through the three point Likert scale of questionnaire on three variables; lesson planning, communication skills and homework. The data was analyzed with the help of statistical techniques of mean core and percentage. The findings and conclusions of the study showed that the District Teacher Educators’ training professionally improved the primary school teachers’ skills. Moreover, the new information about content of science and mathematics subjects, training improve the concept become easy, introduce the topic, check the previous knowledge, prepare the effective teaching methods, Urdu skills, better communication, creative thinking, assigning and checking homework. Majority of the male teachers were agreed that training was not helpful in improving their English skills. The major recommendation of the study that training and workshops for the primary school teachers may be organized with the help of district teacher educators for their professional development during working days to enhance their English Language skills.
