Abstract

The study focuses the role of teacher in promoting academic excellence in elementary school. Elementary schools provide basis for the higher education. The objective of the study was to explore the role of a teacher in enhancing academic excellence at elementary level. The researcher used the quantitative method for the study that was descriptive in nature. The population of the study included all the male and female teachers in Central Punjab. The researcher collected the sample of 300 subjects for the study through simple random sampling technique. After collecting data from the respondents, the frequently used statistical techniques of percentage score, mean score, standard deviation and t-test used. The study found that teachers are satisfied with their teaching profession. The female teachers said that teacher-student interaction takes place in classroom and they also arranged activities for students for their better learning. The study concluded that female teacher arranged activities among students in the classroom and in this way; they gave exposure to cultural values through their teaching. The study may recommend that male teachers arrange cultural activities with the classroom to value their teaching.
