Factors Affecting Competencies of Female Secondary School Teachers in Central Punjab

Abstract

The study highlights the factors affecting competencies of female secondary school teachers. The performance of teachers is one of the effective factors that determine the efficiency of school and students’ learning. The objectives of the study were; 1) to identify the economic factors affecting competencies of female secondary school teachers 2) to find out the impact of social factors on competencies of female secondary school teachers 3) to determine the role of environmental factors in effecting competencies of female secondary school teachers. The researchers used the descriptive researcher for the study. The population of the study included all the female secondary school teacher in Central Punjab who are teaching to the secondary school students. The sample of the study comprised 250 female secondary school teachers. The researchers used the sample random sampling technique for the collection of data from respondents. The researchers developed a questionnaire for the collection of the data from sample of the study. The study found that respondents (93.6%) responded that environmental factor affect female teachers’ competencies. The study concluded, in all the three factors, environmental factors greatly affect the competencies of the female secondary school teachers.
